Really good info, thanks for taking the time to educate and for appreciating our work! The initial idea for this build was to keep it as period correct as possible, but the plan quickly changed as we pointed out to the owner that almost every aspect of the project could be upgraded beyond the fabrication/tech capabilities they had in the 80’s. I think the end result will be something truly special; thank you for tuning in for the process!

Because of how rare these cars are, there are virtually no aftermarket parts to choose from, so everything needs to be made from scratch. Luckily that's exactly what we're good at!

Thanks! It's a totally custom, one-off design which draws filtered, cold air from the inner fender and D/S portion of the grill.

@@patiencemetalfab can you make video and explain how you made it. It's so interesting how it's actually work. Before this I use cold air intake but didn't like how it's look 😔

We do this for a lot of reasons: The love of keeping classics on the road, taking factory-equipped vehicles and making them into something totally unique and making customer's project visions into reality are just a few. It's a very fulfilling business to be in!

The best thing about the modifications we're doing, is that he will be able to fit big wheels, but not mess with the beautiful factory body lines of the 242!

The owner of this one tracked it down from a diehard Volvo enthusiast out of state and talked him into parting with it!

That's awesome! The owner of this one ALMOST went with a wagon over a sedan 240, but ended up finding a 242 that he fell in love with. We're definitely excited to build this one up for him!

Those are actually made from even lighter and stronger carbon fiber. There are so many upgrades done to this car to make it competitive, now it's the driver's job to make use of them all!
